We were looking for a beach we had gone to a few years back with a friend and thought it was Folkestone.. though we later realised that was sheerness beach( more on that beach later!)
So this was a surprising find☺
This is quite a sandy beach by UK standard and we were lucky with a sunny day yesterday.
We drove up from the other side of the harbour and landed at "Sunny Sands " East Cliff
You walk down some steps from the cliff and you are on the promenade. The beach is a few steps down from the promenade.
If you keep on walking along the promenade you reach some restaurant's including "fish shacks"
We took a takeaway of Fish and Chips and Pulled pork burger from the smokehouse takeaway entrance and sat out on the tables of the restaurant in the sun and watched sea gulls dyson away chips dropped by a kid
Sitting on the beach and watching kids wrapped up in diligently built their castles was oddly relaxing. Hilarious was the little girl who decided that the sand was her water and insisted on crawling on the belly on it in a swimming action!
Definitely a place worth visiting on a sunny day. About an hour from greenwich and probably an hour and half from central london
