New Delhi !

Well this is not a pleasure trip but I want to still capture the experience ( more for myself this one ! )
In Saket and Gurgaon between home and hospital .. Can't help noticing the contrast in the greenery on Delhi and the high rises of Gurgaon . Gurgaon is going to look like Manhattan in 10 years. Mark my words !!

But most important is the cultural diff between the people . Mom in law came visiting my parents en route to Dehradun for a family wedding with a Delhi friend. Suave sophisticated silk printed salwar kameez big bindi Delhi lady :-)) . reminded me of the Delhi days when i moved from Ajmer and how enamoured I used to be by these ladies ! It's not changed .. These New Delhi ladies are sophisticated !!

And then the experience in the pharmacy Q in the hospital was as follows

I was second in Q and then one dhoti kurta comes from the side and tells the pharmacy guy his patient is unwell . Do the lady in front said everyone is unwell here !! Yours truly then started minding the Q ! Comes along a haryanvi jat .. I said there is a Q .. He said I am not buying medicine but need the bill . So i said " so what " you still need to Q . He said " aap kya yahan ki judge Lagi padi hain " I
somehow stopped myself from laughing !!!

Austin .. The jazz university town!

We really loved Austin. After staying for 3 nights at Dallas at a close friends place and thoroughly enjoying their company we decided to give them a break for a couple of nights and drove to Austin. Our hotel was fabulous. We stayed at the intercontinental hotel which has a wrap around balcony on the first floor, the bar is also situated here. We went in May 2012 when the universitY was closed and hence is was quieter than it usually is. The food was fabulous and there was great Jazz.   

Zurich

Snowing in Zurich today .. This holiday is like a exploratory holiday and figured the way to go to the mountains for the next time ! Titling via Luzern ( train from the main railway station )

Zurich and the Dada movement

In Zurich today. Went to the old town ( like the fact that streets are called Strasse. In the old town went into a shop which was interesting and then learnt about the dada movement. http://arthistory.about.com/cs/arthistory10one/a/dada.htm .
